POLi Upgrades and Development in 2025
1. Complete withdrawal from Australia
On September 30, 2023, POLi officially ceased operations in Australia. This decision was made after the decision of three large banks to stop working with the service, increasing risks and reducing its profitability.
POLi is no longer available for deposits, including online casinos and other services where it was used before.
2. Continued work in New Zealand
Regardless of the closure in Australia, Merco Ltd. - POLi's master distributor in New Zealand - has bought out the local division and continues to serve customers without disruption. New services and improvements are already in development specifically for the NZ market.
3. Alternatives in the Australian market
After POLi left, companies began to switch to alternative solutions.
Monoova and PayTo: Bonza has already replaced POLi with a new PayTo method - direct debit via NPP (New Payments Platform). This system is faster, safer and focused on the future of digital payments in Australia.
Azupay also appears, offering to integrate PayID through a technological layer compatible with the existing POLi infrastructure.
4. Service support and stability
In New Zealand, POLi remains a stable platform with daily multiple calculations and operational support, including information on technical status and planned maintenance (for example, unavailability time for Westpac systems).
The service is being developed and supported, but exclusively in NZ.
