Problems and errors when depositing through POLi: how to solve

1. Transaction failure

Symptom: payment fails, error message appears.
Reasons:
  • the bank does not support POLi or has temporarily restricted access to Internet banking;
  • Incorrect data input during authorization
  • bank or operator limit exceeded.
  • Solution:
    • check the relevance of POLi support in your bank;
    • make sure that the login and password are correct;
    • clarify the limits at the bank and at the site.

    2. Credit delay

    Symptom: the money is debited, but it has not been credited to the casino/operator account.
    Reasons:
    • time delay when sending confirmation from the bank;
    • Operator system failure
    • transaction requires manual review.
    • Solution:
      • wait 30-60 minutes and check the balance again;
      • contact the operator's support service and provide a POLi check;
      • if necessary, clarify the status of the transaction with the bank.

      3. Error at the bank authorization stage

      Symptom: the system does not allow the Internet Banking page.
      Reasons:
      • technical work on the bank side;
      • blocking access due to suspicious activity;
      • using an unsupported browser or mobile device.
      • Solution:
        • try to log in from another device or browser;
        • check the status of the Internet bank;
        • contact bank support to unlock.

        4. Limit Limits

        Symptom: it is impossible to contribute an amount above/below a certain value.
        Reasons:
        • Minimum deposit set by operator (e.g. 10 AUD/NZD)
        • the maximum limit is set by the bank or casino;
        • the bank's daily limits have been exhausted.
        • Solution:
          • clarify the rules in the "Payments/Deposits" section on the operator's website;
          • check the limits of the Internet bank;
          • split the amount into multiple transactions.

          5. Refund issues

          Symptom: return request error or long wait.
          Reasons:
          • POLi did not support direct withdrawal - returns went through the casino/operator;
          • the bank required additional verification;
          • mismatch of details.
          • Solution:
            • request a return directly from the operator;
            • Save the POLi check and provide it to support
            • check the correctness of the details for return.

            6. Current status in Australia

            Effective September 30, 2023, POLi ceased operations in Australia.
            All errors described above are relevant only for historical experience or for users in New Zealand.
            In Australia, deposits through POLi are not possible; for legal services, PayID, Osko, bank cards, Apple Pay and Google Pay are used.

            7. New Zealand: Where advice remains applicable

            In New Zealand, POLi continues to function, and the listed problems may still arise. There, users should be guided by the above steps: save a POLi check, check bank limits and contact the operator directly in case of failures.

            8. Result

            Errors in deposits through POLi were most often associated not with the service itself, but with banks and operators: limits, technical work or failures in the transmission of confirmation. The solutions have always been in the areas of data validation, communication with support and saving a check to prove the transaction. Today in Australia POLi is closed, but in New Zealand the recommendations remain practical.
